Registration Hours for New Clients: PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY. New clients are seen on a first come, first served basis. Unfortunately, we sometimes reach capacity early and we will have to ask you to return to the next registration shift.

Mondays:
8:00 – 11:00 AM
1:00 – 3:00 PM

Tuesdays:
1:00 – 3:00 PM

Wednesdays:
8:00 – 11:00 AM
1:00 – 3:00 PM

Thursdays:
9:00 – 11:00 AM

When you arrive, please bring the following documentation, if available:
• Identification card
• Social Security card
• Birth certificates for children
• Immunization cards for children
• Proof of income (for deposits)
• Proof of Pregnancy

During the registration process, you will be asked to fill out a form telling us about you and your family and letting us know where you need assistance. Our staff is kind and respectful, and many are former clients themselves, so please feel comfortable talking openly with us so we can do our very best to meet your family’s needs.

If you are in immediate need of food, diapers, clothing, or any other basic necessities: We will be able to provide you with these things as soon as you come in to see us (if we have these supplies available). If we do not have the supplies when you come in, we can refer you to an agency that does

If you are homeless and pregnant, ready to obtain permanent housing, or suffering from family violence, substance abuse, and/or mental health issues: You will be able to meet with a case manager who will continue to offer you support in follow-up appointments if necessary. Your case manager may request additional documentation relevant to the services they are providing.

Compass Family Services





  • Emergency Housing: Call Compass Connecting Point at 1-855-234-2667 or 415-644-0504   Monday - Friday, 9am - 12pm and 1pm - 5pm.  A counselor will help you access the best resources to help your family find stability.  If you need assistance after hours please dial 211 or 1-800-273-6222 for general questions or 1-877-384-3578 if you are a woman experiencing domestic violence.

  • Child Care Support: Compass Children's Center is done via the San Francisco Childcare Connection (SF3C).  You can fill out a SF3C application online, visit Compass Children's Center (144 Leavenworth Street) on Wednesdays between 2pm - 4pm or call Eileen Sugai, SF3C Manager, at 415-343-3378.
  • Parenting Classes: Compass Family Resource Center offers CPS certified parenting classes, case management, support groups and family activities and support for parents seeking high-quality, affordable childcare.  To schedule an intake, call 415-644-0504 or visit Compass Family Resource Center (995 Market Street, 5th floor) on Mondays between 1:30pm and 4pm, Wednesdays between 4:30pm and 6:30pm and Thursdays between 9am and 11:30am.
