1095 Homeless Venterans (2011 City & County of San Francisco Point-In-Time Count)
- Homeless veterans reported an average of nearly six years homelessness, compared to four years among non-veterans.
- Length of homelessness matters because the longer people spend on the streets, the more health risks they tend to develop.
- As the group, veterans were 11% more likely to suffer from at least one condition linked to increased risk of death among the homeless population.
- Female Veterans are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population.
- Women who are Veterans are at much higher risk of homelessness than male counterparts.
